It has been a while since my last post...ok so it's almost been a year, but Fear not, I am posting now! I have finally received my official diploma for my associates degree! It came in the mail this week, and it looks super nice! I looked at it for a while with a tear in my eye, and then told it to get me a better job. Hey, I did my part, now its time it did his! I've not decided on whether or not to keep going through JIU. The only Bachelor program that interests me there is the Communications Management program. That sounds kind of lame to me. Not to mention I still don't have a clue what I want to be when I grow up. I just want money...lots of it! Then my fam and I can go to Disneyworld any time we want. this is my post, more to come.

My first short film!!
So, as my family has already seen, I've created my very first short film for my Videography class that I'm enrolled in. Its flippin sweet! I love doing this kind of stuff. I will say though that it is hard trying to work the camera and video tape yourself! My beautiful wife and kids are all in St. George Utah right now, and I'm home alone going crazy! I don't like being here unless my family is here. Its like, what the heck is the point? I come home to....nothing! I miss my kids being all excited that dad's home, and I miss the hugs from Jen, and its only been 3 day's! I'm a wimp. But what can I say, I love my family a ton! SO when I shot the video, the house kind of looks messy because I've been an Bachelor for a few days, but rest assured, it is sparkling clean now! The video has some good shots, I know what I would do differently next time, for one, I need to find a better actor! Anyways, Enjoy the show!

My heart is lost to you...
Well HI again! I bet all of you thought that I fell into a hole or something didn't you. Well, I crawled out, and this is my new post. It will be a post dedicated to my wife, whom I am still deeply in love with. The song and video you are about to view is one of significant importance to me. First, I must of listened to this song a million times while Jen and I were dating, and two, Its the music video that really made me want to get into video editing and film work. The song itself is fantastic. It has a flare to it that lights up my heart every time I hear it. The guitar is amazing, and reminds me of those hot summer days in Southern Utah on the red rocks, climbing around thinking of Jen. IN the video, the two cars symbolize the couple that are dancing, and I have to say, If Jen was a car, she would definitely be portrayed as the one in the video! Jen, I hope you enjoy my post, and the video, and as always, My heart is lost to you! This video is awesome, and Ya, Go Steelers!!

Front man for the Jets
"Man, Favre looks like he's old in the Wrangler Jeans commercials. There's no way he's going to be able to handle another year!" This is what the majority of people thought when everyone heard that Favre wasn't going to retire after all, but continue to play the game that he loves. Favre was suppose to retire after the incredible season he had last year, making it to the NFC championship game. Things were said, and then things wern't said, and blah blah blah. To make a long story short, the man is back, but stationed in New York, with the Jets. As odd as it is to see the number 4 on a Jets jersey, he still looks and plays like he did 15 years ago. He currently has a 94.5 percent pass rating, which happens to be the best he has ever had! He's like a fine wine that gets better with age! Or aged cheese, but I like the wine saying better. The jets are currently sitting on top of the number one spot in their division. Now, Favre shouldn't get all of the credit for their success. He has some amazing wide recievers that could catch a greased pig! Not to mention a massive offensive line, and skilled running backs. The team is looking pretty strong. What Favre does bring to the team is experience, fun, and the ability to march the offense down the field. Enjoy this video highlight of the Jets at New England facing the menacing Patriots. The Jets look like the real deal.

College Online??
My online learning is not for the slackers, or unmotivated students...aka, slackers. So far, I love it. My courses have been challenging at times, but being able to be anywhere in the world and still turn in my assignments, its a freedom only online universities can offer. For instance, Jen and I were in St. George Utah visiting my family. The two weeks I was there, I would use my Dads computer, and turn in my assignments. It was great to have that kind of freedom. My life is busy. Everyone's lives are busy, but right now, this is my time so say it! My life is busy. I work full time, I come home and "try" to be a dad and a husband for a few hours, and then by 10:00 I have to do my homework. I try to get my homework completed by Friday, but sometimes the courses are challenging enough that they demand more of me. Jen gets upset, and I can't really blame her. My life, it seems, has been lived these last few months in front of a computer.
My books are ordered online, and the professors can be reached through e-mail, or phone. Anything I need to ask, they promptly respond with an answer. The lectures that are given are in tabs called "themes". Just click on a theme, after you've completed the readings, and read. A lot of reading is involved, but its totally worth it to keep my full time job, and provide for my family while going to school! Its honestly a blast, and I'm learning new things everyday. The feedback I get from my professors is priceless because they go over every assignment that is turned in, critique it, letting me know how to improve.
Now, you might be thinking, "what about the tests". Well, there is tests, but they are in the form of projects. During the 8 week course, I work on the final project. The project is a reflection of everything you've learned. Its brilliant really. All of the weeks homework has to be turned in by midnight on Saturday, so you have enough time to do your assignments.
Unlike the traditional classroom setting, talking with peers is done in forums. We can see each others work and make comments as we see fit. One of the biggest things for me though is that I found out that being a self starter is essential to my success. I have to be motivated to meet my deadlines without any teacher breathing down my neck! You reap what you sew for sure.

All in all I love this experience! My professors have all been amazing so far, and JIU for those who are wandering, happens to be a fully accredited college. As I said before, there is no way I could be in a classroom setting and keep my full time job, and have Jen being an at home mom. This worked out for the whole family, and I'm excited to be a part of this college.
